LUXURY mountain view resort condo with large private balcony

Overall - the resort itself is excellent! Great location and amenities, especially for families. Duke's restaurant on the beach has great food and daily live music. Just a short drive from Whaler's village and other points of interest. Garage parking was also a bonus (there were high winds and rain a couple of days). Bell service took everything upstairs for us with very little delay, we had stopped for groceries after leaving the airport. Our particular unit was not very well maintained. The patio/balcony door was sticking, when the balcony door isn't closed the AC doesn't work so, because of the sticking door, when we got there, unit was very warm. Once we read the instructions in the welcome guide we were able to call maintenance and they came quickly. It would just take a small amount of and effort to get this unit back into decent shape. There were several spots on the walls that needed to be painted/touched up (they had removed curtain rods above doors and just left that way). Carpet was dirty and I would not walk on without socks/slippers. Unit stated that came with two beach chairs (there was just 1, which was inconvenient as there is no seating at the beach itself). Washer and dryer are VERY small capacity and there are only 4 towels/washcloths/hand towels provided (we were there 9 nights). Only 1 set of dish towels. Owner was not accommodating with date change prior or late check out on our last day.

We enjoyed this unit for 10 days. From the start the communication was great, checkin was seemless and our experience was great. Look forward to booking again!

Nice unit, always a great location on Ka'anapali Beach, but needs extra TLC in cleaning. Wall to wall carpet needs cleaning, living room sofa needs cleaning, replace bathroom towels. They smell old. Need bleach when washing or about time to update to new towels, we use Costco towels for our rentals. Touch up big paint chips above toilet in bathroom. Otherwise, all good. Quiet and convenient location in building.

October was a magical time to visit the island of Maui. The property where we stayed was the perfect apartment for our family of four. It was a one bedroom for myself and my husband and a large pull out couch for our two boys who are aged 8 and 12 years old. Every single day our kids were smiling, and they simply enjoyed every minute of our vacation. The facilities had a pool, but most importantly access to a nearly private beach, where we played for hours every day and watched the sunset. Our apartment was facing the sunrise every morning, which I thought was really perfect because in the shade in the afternoon if we wanted to sit on the lanai and enjoy some afternoon snacks, and relax. The kitchen was stocked with all of the necessities so we could cook meals at home. The property management staff were extremely accessible and helpful and responded immediately to any of our calls and messages without any delay. All in all a 10 out of 10 experience. Extremely comfortable and perfect for our location.

Our family absolutely loved our week at Honua Kai! The kids loved all the pools and how close you are to the beach. The room was perfect, such a nice balcony to eat on and all the kitchen supplies you need. Everything was clean. The view off the balcony is nice this direction too, even though you're not looking at the ocean of course. The property manger called during our stay to make sure everything was going well. Nice having Duke's on the property. It is a bit pricey so we ended up only eating there once, but it was great. We were there 2 weeks before the devastating fires, and are thankful we got to experience Lahaina town (about 10 min away) the way it used to be. Can't believe it's gone now. Sending prayers to those in Maui! I'm not sure what tourism is going to be like in the near future in Maui, but I would highly recommend this resort/room 430 if you're considering visiting Ka'anapali sometime in the future!
